    The bait or lure …
The bait or lure must be down at the depth of the fish you are targeting. Some fish are near the surface at times while others are over 100 ft deep other times. There are 2 major categories of floats and those are either line clipped floats or slip floats. If you want to fish shallow then clip floats are easiest to use but if you are fishing deep, then it is best to use a slip float with a depth adjusting stopper that fastens to the line so you can precisely adjust your depth.

    Google “slip float …
Google “slip float rig”. better than dealing with this crap that kinks and weakens your line with metal clips. Make sure to geat weightless slipfloats without lead at the base. This way you can see if your bait is resting on the bottom if the float is sideways. Good luck. You’ll catch fish.

  11. NorCalFishinguru says:

    The biggest, ” …
The biggest, “smartest” fish will only take the bait and swim with it if everything sems right. When they feel the tension from a giant float holding them back, they’ll drop it and swim away in a heartbeat. Ever wonder why your bobber dipped a couple times and then stopped?

  12. NorCalFishinguru says:

    God this lebarda …
God this lebarda guy’s an idiot. The left is plastic, dont buy it because it cracks. the middle are styrafoam, not cork. the rightmost is balsawood, and floats orange tip up. Rig on the smallest bobber/most weight you can for you to be barely able to see anything.

my friend has actually caught a 15 lb. catfish in Big Bear using a bobber, the thing came up to the surface cause of the bright colors on the bobber, and nibbled at the green peas that was on my friends hook, and he ended up reeling him in after about 15 minutes, but I think that this case was just luck… but it was pretty awesome! lol
