Runescape Fishing Guide 1-99

This is a guide on how to get 99 fishing, which should give you a good idea of the different ways you can train it and the money you can make. I hope this guide helps and best of luck to anyone who is going for 99 fishing. =)

Xp Per Hour Rates:
Shilo Fly Fishing – 60k per hour
Barbarian Rod Fishing – 65k per hour
Monkfish – 40k per hour
Sharks – 15k per hour
Lobsters – 30k per hour
Tuna/Swordfish – 25k per hour

Note: All the times taken to 99 are based on an average of 5-7 hours per day. But if you fish for longer than this, you can reach 99 in a shorter amount of time. This guide was made before the living rock caverns update so Rocktail/Cavefish arn’t explained in this video. Heres a quick guide on fishing them:

Cavefish – 85 Fishing
They give 300xp when caught and you will need a fishing rod and bait to catch these.

Rocktail – 90 Fishing
They give 380xp when caught and a fishing rod and living minerals are required to fish these. You can get living minerals by either killing the living rock protectors/strikers/patriarchs then mining them for living minerals. Or you can buy them off other players or in the G.E. Rocktail take around a month to fish from 90-99 and they make around 50M. Sharks are worth more from 90-99…? Don’t forget that sharks are 110xp each and rocktail are 380xp each. The xp rate makes up for the loss and if you fish rocktail to 99, you will reach 99 first before you reach the 70M mark.
Watch out for the enemies in the living rock caverns. The living rock protector/striker/patriarchs are level 120/140/200 and can attack you while fishing.

Don’t ask questions that were already explained in this video/description as they will likely be ignored/deleted. This includes questions such as asking how long a specific level will take and anything regarding Xp. I’ve explained all the Xp given by fish and items such as Sc harpoons so you should be able to work it out yourself. Only post questions that were not explained in this video/description and i’ll answer them when I get the chance.

Granite Crab – 16 Summoning
Fishing Boost – 1 Time – 18 Mins
Forges Cod, Pike, Seaweed and Oysters

Ibis – 56 Summoning
Fishing Boost – 3 Time – 38 Mins
Forges Tuna and Swordfish

Granite Lobster – 74 Summoning
Fishing Boost – 4 Time – 47 Mins
Forges Swordfish and Sharks

Fist Of Guthix Gloves:
Recieved From Fist Of Guthix Minigame

Swordfish Gloves – 65 Fishing
100xp Boost For Each Swordfish Caught
Destroyed After Catching 1000 Swordfish

Shark Gloves
100xp Boost For Each Shark Caught
Destroyed After Catching 1000 Sharks

Sacred Clay Harpoon:
Recieved From Stealing Creation Minigame

Doubles Xp Given By Tuna, Swordfish and Sharks
Lasts For 23,500 Fishing Xp
