You did good bud. It's rare to land 50% when fishing steelies. They're naughty! That's why the guide told you the truth. He's in the ballpark with 3/10.

Here in the Great Lakes area, Steelhead are one of the best fighting fish around. They rip drag, and jump very often.

Landing 3 out of 6 would be a sucessful day in my book. Hopefully you can learn from whatever mistakes you may have made in losing the other 3.

That is good depending on where you are fishing for steelhead some fisherman go out and not get one fish or a strike at all.It is just a matter of the area some hold fish but the fish are so wary e.t.c. or just overly fished.
